View Project

The designer and owner wanted a tough and rustic look to the market. They had the plumbers cut the pipes into the floor and fill them in with new concrete. We than ground and polished the floor using the existing marks that were made over the past 70 years as part of the effects seen when the dye reacts with the floor. They chose a caramel color which is a mix of some tan and gold as seen in the reaction to the concrete. The floor was polished to a high gloss finish.
There was a food grade acrylic burned into floor to protect it from the daily traffic and products at the market.
